Requests when entering the museum

  • Please leave all luggage other than handbags in the lockers.
  • Please refrain from bringing umbrellas into the exhibition rooms.
  • Please refrain from taking photographs or videos outside of permitted areas within the exhibition hall.
  • Even in areas where photography is permitted, please refrain from using tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, continuous photography, or close-up shots of artworks.
  • Please do not touch the exhibits or display cases.
  • Please refrain from copying or using writing utensils in the exhibition room.
  • Please refrain from talking on your cell phone inside the exhibition room.
  • Smoking is prohibited inside the building.
  • Please refrain from eating or drinking anywhere other than designated areas.

Barrier-free information

The building is designed so that guests can move around in their wheelchairs.
In addition to a multi-purpose toilet, we also have ramps, elevators, one wheelchair, and walking sticks available.
There are two parking spaces for people with disabilities at the main entrance of the hotel.

Salon Le Damier

Located on the first floor just inside the entrance is Salon Le Damier (meaning checkerboard in French). Filled with soft light pouring in from the courtyard, this space is usually used for workcations, breaks, and socializing, and is a paid space with drink service. Although small, the salon seats 85 and consideration has been given to acoustics. Museum concerts featuring professional performers are also planned to be held regularly.

To mark the museum's opening, the museum has received full cooperation from the Foujita Foundation in France to produce a wide range of original goods featuring Fujita's works. The range of original goods, available only at the Karuizawa Ando Museum of Art, includes stationery such as postcards, files, memo pads, and short notes, as well as T-shirts, tote bags, and ceramics created in collaboration with Kyoto's Tachikichi. This impressive lineup is sure to delight not only Foujita fans but also cat lovers.

Cafe

HARIO CAFE

A cafe directly operated by HARIO, which has been making coffee equipment since its founding in 1921, will open inside the Karuizawa Ando Museum of Art. In addition to enjoying specialty coffee and tea brewed with HARIO equipment, you will also be able to touch and purchase the equipment. Glass accessories from the HARIO Lampwork Factory, including designs exclusive to the museum, will also be available for purchase.

Y Farm Restaurant

"Y Farm Restaurant" is located in a space adjacent to the hotel and is open as a restaurant from 5pm in the evening (it operates asa HARIO CAFE until 5pm during the day). "Y Farm Restaurant" serves artistic cuisine that combines the beauty of agriculture with the inherent creativity of vegetables. Based on the concept of "an artistic dish created by Y Farm," this restaurant allows you to experience the profound flavors, beautiful shapes, and beautiful colors of the vegetables and herbs harvested from the farm.

Karuizawa Ando Museum of Art has started selling annual passes. Please take advantage of this opportunity.

date of expiry The passport is valid for one year from the first day of use (e.g., April 1, 2024 - March 31, 2025).

Benefits
  1. Admission is free (only for the person in question).
  2. You can purchase museum merchandise at a 10% discount.
  3. All HARIO CAFE products are available at a 10% discount.

*When using this service, you will need to present this certificate along with another form of identification (driver's license, health insurance card, etc.).
*Not available on closed days.
*If you lose it, please contact the museum.
*Please note that even if you present this card, you will not be given priority entry when the museum is crowded.

  2. Annual passes will be issued upon your visit.
    Please pay at the reception (cash, credit card, electronic money).
    After confirming your start date, we will hand you your annual passport.
