To mark the museum's third anniversary, we are holding a special event entitled "The Reims Museum Collection: From Tsuguharu Foujita to Léonard Foujita: The Path to Prayer." We will introduce the highlights of the exhibition as well as the city of Reims, where Foujita deepened his creative work and faith in his later years.

Reims, the capital of the Champagne region in northeastern France, is a city steeped in history, art, and culture. Towering above the city is Reims Cathedral, built in the 13th century, which has been the site of the coronation of French kings for centuries. The majestic stained-glass windows shining in the light captivate visitors.

Reims is also the world-famous capital of Champagne, where the limestone soil and cool climate nurture grapes that give birth to the special sparkling wine "Champagne" that is produced exclusively here.
Construction of the Chapel of Our Lady of Peace in Reims: Fujita's dream supported by prestigious Champagne
After becoming a Christian, Fujita's goal was to build a chapel, and he achieved this goal with the help of René Laloux. Laloux began searching for land with Fujita, purchased land near his company's premises, and provided financial support for the construction costs.
